From their website, "Untitled (sans titre) is an association that aims to promote art and artists.  Twice a year, in Spring and Autumn, Untitled (sans titre) will organise stimulating meetings in some of Brussels most beautiful private residences, between artists and high level personalities in the worlds of politics, education and thought, business and science to discuss contemporary issues. Through their work and approaches, artists will provoke debate and “lateral thinking” on issues such as environment and sustainability, economic and social progress, mobility, education, intercultural dialogue.  Untitled (sans titre) is about mingling and networking at the highest level, bringing artistic creativity to influence thinking processes; it aims to provide the intellectual nourishment that we all need in order to face our daily decision-making with a depth of understanding."

Kentridge Amidst the Venice Floodwaters

Before Venice flooded this week, William Kentridge, a South African artist, with the Handspring Puppet Company and the Ricercar Consort, a small period-instrument ensemble from Belgium, mounted Monteverdi’s “Return of Ulysses” at the ancient Malibran Theater. At the same time, a video Mr. Kentridge devised for the fire curtain at Venice’s main opera house, La Fenice, was revealed. “Made to be seen as audiences arrive and the orchestra tunes up, it will be shown over the coming weeks before various operas.” Read Michael Kimmelman’s NYTimes article here.

Ontroerend Goed's Devriendt Interviewed

Brian Logan of ‘The Guardian’ interviews Alexander Devriendt, founder and director of Ghent-based Ontroerend Goed, a company best known for messing with the relationship between audience and cast, fiction and reality. Their latest show, Once And For All We're Gonna Tell You Who We Are So Shut Up And Listen, was created and performed by 13 Belgian schoolchildren aged 14 to 18.
