International Actor Training Programs

‘Backstage’ has published an article about American actors training abroad. They ask, “What makes a performer decide to study abroad and what are the benefits?” It has interviewed six actors who studied, respectively, at the Moscow Art Theater School, the Jacques Lecoq International Theatre School in Paris, the Accademia dell'Arte in Italy, Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London and the Odin Teatret in Denmark. Performing Arts Training International Conference

October 24-27, 2008: Bovec, Slovenia

The conference is open to professional performers, performing arts educators and teachers from all over the world interested in the research of topical questions and processes in contemporary performing arts education and training. At the moment the Conference is accepting presentation proposals.

If you are unable to attend the conference there is opportunity to send your promotional materials: booklets or flyers about your company, announcements of workshops, courses, performances and other events. All materials will be displayed at the main information stand and will be available to the delegates during the entire period of the conference.

European Association for Theatre Culture

Akt-Zent/Protei/Scut was founded in 1994 under the artistic direction of Jurij Alschitz as mutually independent international theatre centers in Berlin, Rome, Stockholm and Oslo. In 2000 they joined forces to create the European Association for Theatre Culture with the objective to bring together the world’s different theatre traditions, primarily those of Western Europe and Russia. All its programs are designed to promote the on-going education of professional actors, directors, pedagogues and scholars. In master-classes, seminars, conference, laboratories and festivals, the aim is the research and exploration of theatrical processes. Applications are currently available for their International theatre Summer Academy, which offers four training courses: 1. School for Professional Actors 2. School for Young Actors 3.
